Santo Domingo Airport

Laura left for her trip to Haiti last night.
She flew to Salt Lake City where she met up with some of the people from International Aid Serving Kids. Then they flew overnight to JFK and then this morning they flew to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. They are going to take a bus this afternoon to Haiti.
She called me from the airport in Santo Domingo. You can listen to her call by clicking on the little play button below. The following is a summary of the call.
  1. In JFK they had to run to catch the plane to Santo Domingo but one of the doctors did not get the word that they need to run. Fortunately they were able to convince Delta to wait for him.
  2. One of their team members got hit by a bag when it was being unloaded from the overhead compartment and she may have a broken collar bone.
  3. Everybody got their luggage ok.
  4. They are waiting for other people that are arriving on different flights.
  5. The bus ride will be at least 10 hours and they will probably get to Haiti at 2 or 3 in the morning.
  6. I told her that she might have to let the people on the bus hold her passport.
  7. She got about 3 hours of sleep on the flight.
  8. She does not know if the bus is going to take them to Léogâne or just to Port-au-prince.
